I am making a post. Because the onsite course was that awesome.
Conversation was intelligent. People were funny. People were great. And we were wined and afternoon-snacked at the end of it at the winery :).
I didn't know there were this many awesome people in class. It was great getting together with people - the 8.30-5pm timetables was like school. But unlike school we really had more commonalities between us.
We all endured 4/5 years of law school.
We were all bright eyed any shiny(ish).
We were all looking for jobs. And for those who had jobs - all this litigation stuff was new knowledge!
It was a three week module pushed into two weeks. I'd have loved to have spent more time with these people but....I suppose life does go on.
Quotes of the weeks:
On dolphin tattoos which apparently 'everyone' gets: "Who'd get a tattoo of a dolphin? Dolphins are just gay sharks!"
In cross examination: "The war was 10 years ago wasn't it. And you still have insomnia. You haven't gotten over the war yet have you." - THIS WAS GOLD!
On life: "We're all just kids. We just learn how to behave in public."
On my necklace...which was a four leaf clover. And proof that girls only wear jewelry to impress other girls:
Girl friend: "Ooooh, I love your necklace"
Guy friend: "Is that a robot?"
Me: wut?
K. Time for the less fun part - the professional responsibility, court forms and the trial prep assignments. And then the week off! Yes!
