Discrimination

Was reading the NZ news on an online site (which should NOT be called a news site, as a lot of articles are full of ridiculous, tacky, tabloidy rubbish.) when i came across an article about a cafe owner breaching human rights.

Apparently a Turkish cafe owner in NZ kicked out 2 Israeli women and their children for simply being Israelis as a protest against the war.

This is not an issue about the law being an 'arse' or whatyoumaycallit. Its bringing intolerance to a country that does not need it, and can largely do without.

But recap back to the Gaza strip war. Apparently there are a lot of protests against the Israelis allegedly committing genocide etc etc, and there is no news on any pro-Israel supporters. Obviously, this means there is no one supporting them. Right? This is where mass media is an arse. If we never hear about US soldiers being greeted with cheers in villages after toppling Sadaam Hussein's reign, or the surge of troops in Iraq to have worked (and it did, or else anti-Bush protesters would have another axe to grind), it makes it really really unlikely that we are going to hear the other side of the story.

Not saying that war is fine. Israel's actions should not necessarily be condoned. But i'd rather side with them, rather than Hamas. The offensive action that was taken was in response to a growing terrorist threat (did you know that Israel has the best sappers (bomb defusing specialists in the world) due to the number of attempted bombings?), and the fact that Hamas has rained down more than 6000 missiles onto cities for the past 10 years? And they've honoured 'ceasefires' by continuing to rain rockets down. Hamas are most certainly not discriminatory in who they hit. Who can blame Israelis for wanting to reclaim semblance of a normal life i.e. sitting in your backyard, without worrying a mortar shell might dismember you.

There are also reports of a high civilian death toll (300+ people, out of a total of 1000+ people killed). But there is criticism that Hamas is using schools, residential buildings etc as a place to launch attacks from - i.e. human shields. All we hear though is that a school was targeted and bombed. There was no report that the school was actually a UN funded school (why bite the hand that may slap you?).

If any country condemn them, then they should ask themselves whether they would tolerate even 10 missiles from a neighbouring country, and the top politicians/people calling not just for their removal, but for their extermination? I think not.

Countries should really check their hypocrisy. And then revamp mass media.

P.S. I also support President Bush :D.

hey yeah...i read up a bit on the Jews(Israeli) vs Palestinians and maybe i'm on the fence about this but i felt sorry for the Israeli more, in a way. Coz i blame it on the stupid actions of German's psychopath, Hitler himself for killing millions of Jews and driving them into a corner with nowhere to live, then they gave them a place in the middle of nowhere (surrounded by Arab countries) Israel. (did i get the history right? nvm...haha)

well, the Holy Land of Jerusalem to me isn't that 'Holy' anymore with all the unnecessary bloodshed.

No doubt the Palestinians are killed every hour and etc...but the Israelis just wanted to have a place to call home (i guess) or are they invading Palestinian lands? Either way, i'm on the fence, indifference, and i know the war's not going to stop anytime soon.
