The lilting dance of the two

Flirting challenge, that's what I've been told I am. (by who? Facebook of course!)

Happening to chance upon an article about flirting... I read it. Intellectual curiousity of course. Cue coughing.

Anyway.

Eye contact. Posture. Looking like you're interested in what a person is saying. Laughter when someone says something funny. Some complimenting, of course.

Apparently they're signs that you're flirting with someone.

What?

Aren't the above just signs that you're just being friendly?

I do all of the above. It's a nice way to treat people, when I listen to them I show interest in what they're saying. Of course I'd like it reciprocated, cause that's how you get to know someone well. Right?

The article doesn't seem to think so. So....there is no difference at all between flirting and being friendly.

Unless of course, flirting is distinguished by fakeness.

And I also have a problem with the above.
