Bring it!

A short recap of my 2010, and what I've done...it was in reality a huge year of 'firsts' for me.

  • Been VP of the Malaysian club on campus, chairing the Kopitiam event! ....slightly more divisive than usual, but we lived. :)
  • Lived through an earthquake of the magnitude which devastated Haiti....a miracle that EVERYONE in Christchurch survived.
  • Captain and coached a netball team and later won in the inter-M'sian games (among other sports we played) :) so proud of my girls! And overall champions, big cheers to our chef de mission!!!!
  • Lept from and screamed from 4km high in the sky. And was audible to people on the ground >_>.
  • Took a solo national flight (yes, a milestone for me)
  • Got my 4 wisdom teeth extracted :'(. I still have tooth holes in my bottom gum.
  • MC-ed! With an awesome funny as co-host!
  • Bought, and wore a sari XD.
  • Wore baju kebaya for the first time...and performed an inang and joget wearing it :D
  • Picked up longboarding and surfing....may it continue!
  • Kayaking around Golden Bay, Marahau. Oh, the golden sands....not smooth at all, but it was freaking sparkly!
  • Invited to hons for both my Arts subjects
  • Finished my degree.
  • Booked my ticket back to Malaysia!!!
:) I suppose it has been a good year for all its ups and downs. And a list definitely helps in remembering!

And ah, the memories...

Memories:
  • Singing "We are the Champions" at the award ceremony up in Akl. Picking up the medals on my team's behalf. XD coming close to winning best female athelete.
  • Finding out that I would be skydiving, and freaking out. >_> see, I was not feeling particularly adventurous on that day...and thought we would be having a picnic instead.
  • Falling from a plane. @_@
  • Spamming my phone several thousand times to obtain two free phones. = =
  • The annoyance prior to club events (many reasons...) and the relief and jubilation after a job well done :)
  • Committee dinner!! Freaking heck awesome
  • Kayaking around Marahau. Exploring Nelson. Disturbing and getting barked at by a big seal while kayaking. They sound a lot like dogs eh. Getting hot chocolate made by our good-looking and gentlemanly guide. And oh, the sparkly glittery sand
  • Met some forever friends. Not bffl, but people I can always meet up with and celebrate the past, present and future with :)
  • Learning about the court system. Was not aware there were THAT many forms to fill out, or even where to find them.
  • Bought and acquired make up. That I have not yet used. =/ hmmmm.
  • And oh. Learning hard lessons. Will not be elaborated on.
I think that 2011 will be an interesting year. Not just fun, but challenging. It may be a struggle for me to find a job, but....I suppose it'll be worth it.

In the course of the year, I have come to realise that I do not need to sacrifice myself for my job. I will continue longboarding as a 23 year old (gosh, do I sound old), and if need be I can always pick up things. Like parkour! :) but this time I have to stick with things. Even if they are crappy, because they are useful. Like jogging. Jogging sucks big time, but I don't want to get puffy when I sprint up a silly short hill!

Final note from me: May your 2011 be blessed with challenges that show you just how awesome you are!
